Caroline Murray of B-Shique in St. Charles

I am a  Licensed Aesthetician, Public Relations Specialist, and Journalist who has a passion for the evolving world of products.  I grew up in the Chicagoland area and then went to college in Virginia.  After a few years in Public Relations, I wanted to explore my fascination with the skin care industry.  I attended University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology and received my Aesthetics License.  After graduating from University of Aesthetics in Downers Grove in 2013, I was the Assistant Boutique Proprietor at the Benefit Boutique.  Currently I am an Aesthetician at B-Shique Boutique in St. Charles.  In my spare time I enjoy volunteering at a Cancer Center as a Aesthetician.

I graduated from college with a degree in communications in 2013. I never really knew what I wanted to do for a living. I had never really thought about what I wanted to do or where I wanted to work. I spent the whole year after graduating college looking for jobs. Receptionist, hotel front desk, dog walker. Then it hit me; I was applying for jobs I knew I wouldn’t enjoy or make me happy, I had always said that I wanted to love what I did for a living. A friend asked me to be a model for her at the spa she worked at, and I thought hey, I’ve never had a facial, why not? As the facial process started, her mentor guided her, giving her advice and technique tips. I found everything this woman had to say fascinating. I have dry skin? Some products I’m using may be making my skin worse? It felt like I met the best doctor of my life. And then it began.  I started my search for aesthetic schools around the Chicagoland area and then stumbled upon The University of Aesthetics. It was like a spa I had never been to before. Very clean, modern, relaxing. The people were so nice. I registered and the rest was history. I was never really good at school. I was decent; received B’s and C’s, but never really enjoyed what I learned. That all changed at U of A. I actually wanted to go home and do homework. I looked forward to going to class every day. When I had to miss a day, I was so upset! I met some really great people during my time at U of A, but the best was my wonderfully amazing teacher, Ms. Chris. Literally the best teacher I’ve ever had. She is patient, so very patient.. She’s kind, funny and makes learning fun. I am forever grateful for her guidance. A quick six months passes and I graduate! Nervous to go into the real world of aesthetics, I stumbled upon a great job opportunity at a new facial bar opening in Chicago. I applied, interviewed and got the job immediately! I signed up to take my state board exams, took the test, passed with a 90% and then started my job at Mud Facial Bar the next month. Mud opened and it was a mad house. I was constantly booked with appointments, but enjoyed every moment. I learned something new every day at Mud. It was a new company; we were all learning and improving every day. Today, Mud has been open nearly 4 months and it has been wonderful. I’ve gotten the chance to have some amazing opportunities at Mud. Mud was a new company in Chicago so we got a lot of attention and press. I got the opportunity to be on Fox News Chicago, WCIU, TouchVision, Life & Style, BuzzFeed and some other independent beauty blogs. I’m proud of where I work. I love my job and I love my clients. I enjoy educating my clients and giving them advice. Everyone loves my techniques and stories from school. I have everyone at U of A to thank for this new amazing life I have. If it weren’t for them I couldn’t have done any of that. I finally found my passion and I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at in life right now. U of A saved me and I could not be more grateful for the education and amazing experiences I received.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]My experience at University of Aesthetics and Cosmetology was by far the best experience I have ever had in education.  I was not impressed with other schools. Then,  I walked into U of A&C and felt so welcome; I immediately knew I wanted to enroll here.

The instructors have been, by far, the most passionate, understanding, patient teachers I have ever met. Ms. Chris has a way of teaching that makes you understand everything you are learning.

After seeing her teaching methods, I decided that I also want to become an Aesthetics Instructor. Once I had completed the Aesthetics program, I immediately enrolled in the Aesthetics Instructor Program.

Now, I am at the school in the Instructor Evening Program, working with the wonderful skin care line, Aesthe, and helping new students, during the days, with Admissions and Financial Aid.   I never thought I would find a job where I am excited to get up and go to work everyday!

You can call me at 773.635.7700 if you want any help with touring our school or questions about enrollment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″]
